Nia Capps was born and raised in the beautiful North Carolina mountains. Unfortunately for her Southern Belle Grandmama and her hard-workin' mama, Nia refused to wear dresses, go to church, or girlie up her hair, and she learned early to how to cuss, drink and smoke. 

She was smart as a whip, but just as rebellious. She graduated high school early, and then went on to college but was known in her small town as a hell-raiser. Arriving to school blaring heavy metal from a ’79 Camaro, or on the back of a Harley-Davidson Motorcycle were not uncommon occurrences.

After run-ins with the law and a few bad boys, and a girl fight that ended in blood and broken bones (that was the other girl), Nia was forced to flee to Montreal. After terrorizing several neighborhoods in the area, Nia hooked up with the MTL Roller Derby when she was busted at the border with unclaimed large amounts of Native cigarettes and electronics she was trafficking to the US.

As a Contrabandita, she’s known as a clean player, but has moments of just pure meanness, and if she’s going down, she takes as many opposing players as possible down with her. She’s vengeful, she’s loud, and she’s got a temper, so be careful or you may get one of her “Nia Capps” right in your face.
